PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Molly Kadarauch is well known as one of Australia’s pre-eminent and versatile cellists and has performed at leading venues all over the world as well as within Australia as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player.

She is a founding member of Sutherland Trio with Elizabeth Sellars (violin) and Caroline Almonte (piano) who perform regularly at the Melbourne Recital Centre and for ABC Classic FM and 3MBS radio.

Between 1996-2003 Molly was a core member and an Associate Principal cellist of the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) and since then has also regularly performed as Guest Principal and tutti with the Melbourne Symphony, Sydney Symphony, Tasmanian Symphony, Orchestra Victoria, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra and most recently as Guest Principal with the Auckland Philharmonia in 2017.

Molly has also participated in numerous chamber music festivals, including Huntington, Port Fairy, and Peninsula with artists such as Steven Isserlis, Pieter Wispelway, Melvin Tan, and Richard Tognetti.

Molly has performed on several occasions as a soloist in the Bach cello suites series at St Mark’s church and at the Twilight Chamber Music series at Rippon Lea Estate.

She has also appeared as a soloist with the Melbourne Musicians, Orchestra 21 and the Melbourne Bach Choir and joined Wilma and Friends for a Reconciliation concert in 2018.

Other international recital/solo appearances have included Chateau d’Orion (France), Gualala Arts (California), Burg Guttenburg (Germany). She performs on an instrument by Pietro Antonio Testore.

As a teacher, mentor and director, she enjoys working with students from the MCM, ANAM, Monash University, the Australian Youth Orchestra, Orchestra 21, Mt Buller and Clunes chamber music festivals.

Molly received her Bachelor of Music with Honours at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston under Prof. Laurence Lesser (former student of Piatigorsky) between 1987-91, after which she received a Diploma of Performance on a 2-year Fulbright Scholarship under the tutorship of Prof. Wolfgang Boettcher (former principal of Berlin Philharmonic) at the Universitat der Kunste Berlin.
