PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
The native Australian of Armenian and Lebanese descent received her first violin lessons at the age of 8. For her musical and academic achievements she was awarded the scholarship “Alexander Wright Wales” at the age of 12 for 6 years of training at PLC, Melbourne.
As a violin student she travelled from Melbourne to study in Cologne graduating from the University of Music and Dance, Cologne. Five years later, after a successful tour abroad as a violist, she “outed” herself and put on a postgraduate study in viola with Prof. Karin Wolf out of curiosity and love for the new instrument. Since completing her viola diploma in 1996, she has not only worked with the modern instrument at the WDR Funkhausorchester, but also as a baroque violist in the Concerto Köln, the Freiburger Barockorchester, l’arte del mondo, Capella Augustina, German Handel Soloists, Kölner Akademie, New Düsseldorfer Hofmusik and the New Orchestra.
Numerous engagements have already taken her to famous concert halls of many countries in Europe, Asia, North and South America. CD recordings in which she participated, have been awarded prestigious awards such as the Diapason d’Or or the Echo Klassik.
