Romola holds the position of Clarinet with Bass Clarinet in Kungligan Hovkapellet (Orchestra of the Royal Swedish Opera) in Stockholm. She is currently on sabbatical, based in Sydney and working in Australia and New Zealand. Born in Australia, Romola moved to the UK as a child. Whilst at school, Romola attended the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music in London. She then went on to study music at King’s College, London and was awarded a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours. She returned to study at the Royal Academy of Music and graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance.

Romola was selected to participate in side-by-side schemes with both the London Symphony Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta, and was a Britten Pears Young Artist for many years, including the Aldeburgh World Orchestra. She then moved to Sweden to study with Urban Claesson, Principal Clarinet of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. She held the position of Co-principal Clarinet with the DalaSinfonietta, before being appointed as Clarinet with Bass Clarinet at the Royal Swedish Opera. In addition to her permanent positions, Romola has worked regularly with the Gothenburg Symphony, Swedish Radio, Bergen Philharmonic, Norrlands Operan, Gothenburg Opera, Gävle Symphony, Stockholm Sinfonietta, Opera Australia, Sydney Symphony, Tasmanian Symphony and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras. She has also recently been engaged on several contracts as Acting Principal Bass Clarinet with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and as Acting Associate Principal Clarinet with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

In 2018, she was conferred with an Associateship of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) for her significant contribution to music.
