PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
The Double Bass player Ciro Vigilante, finished his studies in Vienna with Prof. Andrew Ackermann with Honors.
Since then he has embarked on a playing career that has taken him to the most important Festivals (Salzburg, Mostly Mozart, N.Y, Schleswig-Holstein, Aix-en-Provence, Schubertiade , Prague Spring), Concert venues Carneigie hall, Wigmore hall, Concertgebouw, Kennedy Center, Theater de Colon, Royal Albert Hall, Gasteig, Liederhalle, Berlin Philharmonie) with many prominent conductors (Sir Simon Rattle, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Sir Neville Marriner, Neme Järvi, Daniel Gatti Daniel Harding) and Soloists (Victoria Mullova, Joshua Bell, Lisa Biatschavilli, Maxim Vengerov, Frank Peter Zimmerman, Emanuel Ax, Martha Argerich, Alfred Brendel, Rudolf Buchbinder, Tzimon Barto, Heinrich Schiff, Peter Wispelway, Steven Isserlis, Renaud Capucon, Elena Garanca, Edita Gruberova, Jose Calleja) all over the world.
He is currently the Principal Bass in the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and also plays in the Australian World Orchestra.
After a concert in the Carneigie Hall , the new York Times critic labelled him as a “characterful Bass player“.
