PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Born in South Australia to musical parents from Latvia they instilled the love and appreciation of music at an early age in their six boys of whom Paul was the youngest.

First studies at the Elder Conservatorium of Music in Adelaide with Beryl Kimber OBE, and then at the Lucerne Conservatorium under the tutelage of Rudolph Baumgartner.

Earliest formative years with the Ezergailis String Trio with brothers Juris and Artur, later membership in various capacities as soloist leader and first violinist in the chamber groups of Festival Strings Lucerne (Baumgartner), Collegium Musicum (Sacher), Norwegian Chamber Orchestra (Iona Brown), Oslo Sinfonietta, Oslo Philharmonic chamber group and Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields (Neville Marriner, Iona Brown, Ken Sillito and Joshua Bell)

Currently alternating concertmaster with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and artistic director/ leader of Galway based string orchestra Luminosa.
