PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Violinist Kate Suthers is a musician in demand as a leader, chamber musician and ensemble player. Her versatile UK-based career spans quartet to symphony orchestra, and ranges from the music of Hildegarde von Bingen to world premieres.

She has worked with composers including Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Anna Meredith, Jörg Widmann, Jonny Greenwood and Sir James MacMillan. She has also collaborated across art forms in theatre, film, and dance, and enjoys working with artists of different traditions. Before holding positions in the Royal Philharmonic and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestras, Kate studied at the Royal Academy of Music with György Pauk. Currently Kate’s engagements include performances with English National Opera, Scottish Ensemble, Aurora Orchestra and the Hallé, alongside chamber and solo performances.

Born in Australia, Kate is an avid reader, cook and traveller. Kate Suthers plays a Carlo Carletti violin from Pieve di Cento, Bologna, c.1920.
