Featuring the Australian World Orchestra world premiere of The Witching Hour conducted by Alexander Briger.

The Witching Hour concerto for 8 double basses was commissioned by the AWO for their 2016 concert season, premiering the new work at the Sydney Opera House and touring the piece in Singapore.

This 10 CD collection celebrates more than two decades of iconic recordings, starting with Elena Kats-Chernin’s first album of the ABC Classics label, released in 1996.

“Vibrant and seductive” – The Guardian

“Magical” – Berliner Morgenpost

“All four movements are dominated by appealing melodies and catchy rhythms, while Kats-Chernin’s beguiling orchestrations provide a colourful and, at times, eerie backdrop. Briger and the orchestra’s stylish accompaniment oscillated between bustling activity and soft-grained delicacy but never threatened to upstage the soloists” – Murray Black, The Australian
